You don’t need a 90-minute yoga class to feel better. You need 3 minutes and a nervous system reset.
Every call without a break adds just a bit more tension to your system. Eventually, it overflows.Tension builds. Breath shortens. Focus fades. You start pushing through, but you are actually not present anymore.
This is what I see with so many of my clients: high performers who are mentally “on” but physically stuck in survival.
Here’s the good news: You can reset your nervous system in under 3 minutes. No mat. No app. No equipment. Just your body and science.
Try this after your next Zoom:
- EYE PALMING: Rub your palms together to create warmth. Gently cover your eyes with your hands, without pressing on your eyeballs. Block out light and let any appearing shapes fade into black for 30 seconds. – visual reset. (click here for the video instruction)
- LONG EXHALE: Inhale for 2. Exhale slowly through slightly burst lips for 6 to 8 counts. 3x repetitions. – breath reset. (click here for the video instruction)
- BOUNCING: Stand nice and tall. Focus on a point at eye level in front of you. Gently lift your heels and bounce up and down in place, vertically, without shifting forward or back. – vestibular reset.
If it sounds too simple to work, I promise it’s not. You just have to do it.
Recovery doesn’t need to be long. It just needs to be intentional.
Try this between your next two meetings and let me know how it felt.
